Designer Vintage Bridal Show – Exhibitor Spotlight

Posted on Sep 30th 2012

Last weekend I had the pleasure to be part of the line up of fabulous exhibitors that made up The Designer Vintage Bridal Show. This show is THE event for brides-to-be with a passion for all things vintage-inspired and an eye for quality, style and originality.

The show was held at the very impressive Hagley Hall on the 22nd and 23rd September. The organisers of this show puts on a truly memorable experience with everything from catwalk shows, interactive workshops, a vintage salon, afternoon tea and last but not least, the bridal bloggers forum.

Now I always try and pick out a couple of exhibitors at these shows that caught my eye or that I thought would be of interest for my clients and readers.

Here is my summary of the show:

I changed away from the normal 6 foot table display that is the norm at these kind of shows and (my husband) and I built a new stand. This is what it looked like. 😉

The Vintage Drawer

Vicky Trainor had one of the prettiest stands at the show. A real treasure trove of vintage finds! From vintage linens, embroidery, old haberdashery finds and pretty floral fabrics, she makes all kinds of pretty.

“Inspired by the lifestyle of the late 1940’s and 1950’s, when recycling was a simple and beautiful way of life and everything was made with such love and attention to detail. Each piece is hand stitched and made in Vicky’s studio – linen booklet invitations, pretty little place names with ribbon ties, hooped table numbers, flat linen menus, buttonhole brooches, seating plans, reception signs, table linen bunting and so much more.”

I’ve got one of her pretty vintage bookmarks at home, and you really need to hold and feel it to truly appreciate how intricate and beautiful they are!

Winklepoppet

Vicky recently started up doing vintage giftware and stationery and she is based in Liverpool.

“Our unique and individual designs are lovingly handmade using vintage buttons, crystals, jewellery, family treasures, and pearls. All our beautiful and original products can be personalised to suit your special day. Winklepoppet specialises in invitations, guest books, photo albums, family wedding gifts, decorative accessories and much more.”

All the items on her stand were really pretty and unique, in the sense that I’ve never seen anything like it. I specifically loved the big framed hearts that were displayed on the easels behind her stand, as you kept noticing more details and elements included into making up the heart, the more you looked at it.

I’ve got one of those frames on my wishlist for a special occasion coming up, but Shhhh! Don’t tell my husband!

Vintage Glamour Days

Cheryl created Vintage Glamour Days out of her passion for tea, glamour and a love of vintage styling.

You can hire exquisite china and accessories to add a quintessentially English touch to your special day. They can also provide you with a charming afternoon tea full of traditional goodies and scrumptious home made cakes.

The jewel in their box is their pretty vintage 1960’s caravan ‘Audrey’.
