{Lifestyle} Yarnold Family Shoot at Snowshill Manor

Posted on Jun 20th 2012

A few weeks ago, before all the rain started, I spent a lovely morning with Kim and her family at Snowshill Manor nr Broadway.

It was the first time I’d taken a family to Snowshill for a photo shoot, and I must say I am delighted to have found such a lovely venue with so much variety in the grounds to offer my clients as an option for their shoot.

We started off their session at home where I took some photos of the children, individually and well as together, before we moved on to Snowshill Manor. As always, I didn’t take the camera out of the bag immediately, but played and interacted with the children in their own environment first. By letting them show me around and talk about their toys we develop a trust and friendship before the shoot even starts, and that helps me later when I ask them to do things for me that they won’t necessarily even do for their parents (like sit still, hold hands etc.) 😉

I loved getting to know the children better and the impression I made on them is still in evidence when little Daisy comes up to me (when she sees me) to give me a hug and talk to me, whilst she’s normally quite shy where other adults are concerned.

When they came to view their images last week, they were visibly moved** by the slideshow of the images and there were many aaahhhs and ooooohhhs as we were going through. I love making my clients happy and feel proud to know that we’ve captured some precious memories that will now live on forever!

(**I have 3 boxes of tissues in my office for exactly this reason, and be assured that it’s not only the Mums/Brides that get emotional, sometimes the Dads/Grooms join in too! 😉 )

Here are a few images from the day…
